What’s an indie whiskey bottler?
Simply put, we get whiskey from independent distilleries, bottle it, and offer it to you. But it’s really not that simple. We’re more like whiskey scouts, out looking for great whiskey from around the country. Maybe you’ve heard of a distillery we’re partnering with, maybe not. Either way, you’ve never tasted what’s in our bottle. That’s becuase it’s either a hand-selected single barrel or a unique, small batch collaboration you can’t get anywhere else.
Why are you doing this?
In a word: choice. At the ABC store, we see a lot of bottles but not a lot of choice. The big brands make great whiskey, for sure, we just want to see more love for the little guys. That’s why we exist. To highlight the small (and under appreciated) distillers who are making great whiskey. More than likely, their whiskey has limited distribution. So we’re doing something about it. Exposing them to a larger audience, and giving you new whiskey. Everybody wins.
Who are you?
We’re brothers, Cooper and Chris Shreve. We’re whiskey lovers who want to get more good stuff to more people. And since we’re too old to learn how to make it ourselves, we‘re doing something even better (as far as we’re concerned). As an independent bottler, we don’t have to choose a style, or a mashbill, or anything else—we just find great whiskey and share it with people who want more choices, just like us.
When are you opening?
Soon. We’re targeting fall of 2025. Currently we’re building out our tasting room and production facilities in Butner, NC. We’re renovating a WWII-era, post-and-beam construction warehouse that’s just about the perfect place to drink whiskey. Stay updated by signing up for our newsletter and following us on social.
